Downtown Redlands Business Association's Mission Statement

The Downtown Redlands Business Association is a business improvement district located within the historic downtown. The DRBA Advisory Board and staff believe that the association's responsibility is to preserve and promote downtown Redlands, while maintaining community balance and participation. We are dedicated to serving our merchants and keeping them informed of new laws and regulations and to maintain communication with them as to their needs, concerns, and our services.

The Purpose of the Downtown Redlands Business Association
The Downtown Redlands Business Association's intent is to promote public events which are to take place in the downtown area; decorate public places in the association's boundaries; promote the general retail trade activities, including the acquisition, construction or maintenance of facilities to increase safety, convenience and appearance of any public place within DRBA; and to provide the administrative services and facilities to facilitate the above promotions and activities.
Perseverance

The Advisory Board, committee members and staff are determined to see goals realized. Recognized as an influential united body, many of DRBA's recommendations and requests have been successfully taken to City Council for resolution.

Staff works with city management and City Council to sustain and promote the economic vitality of the downtown.

Merchants Welcome

The Downtown Redlands Business Association is successful because of its merchants taking an active interest and getting involved.

All members are invited and encouraged to attend Advisory Board meetings, participate on committees, volunteer at special events, or contact staff with any suggestions or concerns.

Community Involvement

DRBA makes every effort to extend itself beyond its boundaries. Whether it is working with:

  • Local Boy Scouts
  • Schools
  • Non-Profit and Service Organizations
  • The Chamber of Commerce

The DRBA is being professionally represented and promoted.

Downtown Map Brochure

A charming brochure featuring a map of the historic downtown and attractions in Redlands is a marketing piece that is consistently published for visitors.

Merchants are welcome to pick some up to make available to customers in their businesses.

Walking Tour: "A Look at Yesterday... Today" is the title of the published walking tour of historically significant buildings in the downtown.

Informational Plaque Program

The Downtown Redlands Business Association sponsors the production and installation of the bronze plaques seen on downtown properties.

The plaques are an extension of the downtown walking tour.

Beautification

The lights in the trees, maintenance of the benches, sidewalk steam cleaning, street sweeping, the banner program, the addition of street trees and shrubs, and holiday decorations are all evidence of the Downtown Redlands Business Association working to project an appealing and safe image for you and your customers.

The DRBA employs its own maintenance staff for continuous attention to our historic downtown.

Merchants are encouraged to stock copies in their businesses, as the books have proven to be quite popular with the public.
